Breast Cancer Awareness Month

At Empire, we wanted to dedicate today’s post to Breast Cancer Awareness Month; and provide our community and friends with a few vital facts in order to raise awareness to this disease and protect your loved ones. Please continue reading below.

-Every 2 min a woman is diagnosed with breast cancer in the U.S.

-About 12% (1 in 8 women) will develop invasive breast cancer over the course of their lifetime

-Although breast cancer affects mostly woman, men are not exempt from this disease. The risk is 1 in 1,000 men

-Getting a mammogram will reduce the # of deaths by 30-40% among woman of ages 40-70

-There are over 3.5 million breast cancer survivors in the U.S.

As scary as these facts may be, continue with your routine doctor appointments/mammograms it will safe your life. We also wanted to congratulate all the breast cancer survivors; and give our condolences to those and their families whom fought hard but were not able to win the fight.
