With spring weather showing it’s rainy presence loud and proud this week, you may be keeping a close eye on your plumbing. However, one important yet often forgotten piece of equipment is a sump pump. At Empire we have had our fair share in sump replacements/repairs and wanted to answer the 3 most common questions we receive from our customer’s.
1.What is a sump pump? Ans: If you are located in area vulnerable to flooding or have a basement susceptible to flooding you may have/want to invest in a sump pump. A sump pump will collect all the water found in the basement and guide it back outside.
2. How long will my sump pump last? Ans:If taken care of properly sump pumps can last anywhere between 4-7 years.
3.Where is my sump pump located?
Ans:A common reason you may forget to check your sump pump may be due to it not being in plain view; which is known as a submersible sump pump. The pump located above ground is called a pedestal sump pump.
